A range of assessment methods will be used including written reports, session plans, practical observations and recorded demonstrations.

To achieve the qualification, you will complete a booklet to demonstrate your knowledge. You will also plan a gym session for a client and then instruct and deliver the session. The first 5-6 weeks are very theory based for the anatomy and physiology section. The last part of the course will be based in the gym where you will learn about the different equipment, plan a gym session for your client and then instruct your client to use the equipment.

The gym at Craven Leisure Centre will be the base for the practical elements of the course.

This qualification will provide you with the skills to become a competent instructor in the health and fitness industry.
