Overview

The RHS Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Plant Growth, Health and Applied Propagation provides a route to employment in professional horticulture by assessing knowledge of the scientific principles underpinning horticultural practices and supports career development for those already working in the profession. It also provides a foundation for further learning or training in the field of horticulture.

Students may wish to study the RHS Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Garden Planning, Construction and Planting (offered from Sept 2020) and RHS Level 3 Certificate in Practical Horticulture (Tue am)

Students who successfully complete all the necessary units for every one of the Level 3 qualifications listed above will gain the RHS Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practices of Horticulture.

  • Plant Taxonomy, Structure & Function (examination February 2020)
  • The Management of Plant Health (examination June 2020)
  • The Root Environment, Plant Nutrition & Growing Systems (examination June 2020)
  • Understanding Applied Plant Propagation (examination June 2020)

 

Credits for a unit will be awarded to a candidate who achieves a mark of 50% or more in the written examination for that unit. Where a candidate achieves a mark of 70% or more in the examination for the unit, the credits for the unit will be awarded commendation.
