Overview

This introductory one-day course will provide a brief overview of interior design styles and guide you through the making of two designer-led cushion designs. You will learn professional tips and tricks from our tutor and learn skills such as how best to co-ordinate fabrics, professional piping methods and how to insert a zip correctly. You will prepare and sew one to two cushions to take home with you at the end of the day.

Equipment Info

You may wish to use your own fabric and bring your own sewing resources to the course (i.e. your own shears etc).

For each cushion, you will need 1m of fabric or 2 x 0.5m of co-ordinating fabric and one or two zips (measuring 18-20”).

Please bring:

  • Packed lunch
  • Travel cup (with a lid) for tea/coffee

Entry Requirements

  • This course is suitable for improvers who already possess basic sewing skills and can use different feet on a sewing machine confidently
  • Basic sewing skills and how to use a sewing machine are essential
