Youth Mental Health First Aid is a course for everyone who works or lives with young people aged between 8-18. You can learn how to support young people’s mental health, provide help in an emergency and guide them towards the appropriate support.

The course focuses on the issues faced by young people today, such as cyber bullying and substance misuse, and teaches how to promote protective factors and good parenting.

On completion of the course you receive a Youth MHFA manual to refer to whenever you need it, and a certificate to say you are a Youth Mental Health First Aider. You will also develop your interpersonal skills and confidence in supporting young people, gain greater knowledge into young people’s mental health and learn practical skills to spot triggers for mental health issues.

The course is delivered in four manageable chunks:

  • Depression & Anxiety
  • Suicide & Psychosis
  • Self-harm & Eating Disorders
