This introductory one-day course will provide you to gain some practical hints and tips on improving using a commercial pattern, with the opportunity to create your own skirt. Learning traditional sewing skills (as appropriate to your pattern) and refreshing skills you may not have used for a while! Join us for our own little ‘Great British Sewing Bee’ style day to cut out and make a simple skirt. Upon enrolment, you will be given further advice as to what pattern and material to buy, to get the best out of the day. You will also learn how to insert a zip, tips on how to perfect a waistband and how to hem in more than one way!
This course is suitable for improvers who possess good basic sewing skills in setting up & threading a machine and being able to sew. A great short course to boost your confidence! More experienced stitchers are also very welcome.
Once enrolled, you will be provided with a ‘Kit List’ of sewing resources you may like to bring with you on the day (i.e. your own shears etc), although all tools are provided.
